WINNERS OF 2023 OFFICIATING AWARDS ANNOUNCED

Hockey Nova Scotia is very pleased to announce the winners of our 2023 branch officiating awards.
First up are the Hockey Canada Officiating Program Branch Awards. The winners for the 2022-23 season are as follows:
Most Improved: Hannah Graham (Antigonish, N.S.)
Most Promising: Liam Ferguson (Dartmouth, N.S.)
Most Deserving: David Silver (Lunenburg, N.S.)
Next up, we have the Hal Lewis Award and the Female Officiating Award of Distinction.
The Hal Lewis Award was instituted in 1999 in honour of the late Hal Lewis who served for many years with both Hockey Nova Scotia and Hockey Canada. To be considered for the award, an individual must have been involved as an active official and/or served in an administrative role. The individual must exemplify the standards of both Hockey Canada and Hockey Nova Scotia and have given back to the officiating program as an instructor, supervisor or mentor.
The winner of this year's Hal Lewis Award is Corey Hayne (Antigonish, N.S.).
The Female Officiating Award of Distinction is presented annually to a female official who has shown significant promise within the officiating program. A deserving winner will have demonstrated the initiative to further develop her officiating skills and has been identified as a positive role model within the program.
The winner of this season's Female Officiating Award of Distinction is Mykaela Sherry (Truro, N.S.).
On behalf of everyone at Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Hannah, Liam, David, Corey, and Mykaela on receiving our 2023 branch officiating awards. Congratulations, everyone!
