WAUGH WINS BERNIE LAWLOR AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia’s Minor Council is proud to announce Cam Waugh, head coach of the Halifax Hawks U15 AA team, as one of the recipients of the Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award for April 2025.
Cam brings dedication, compassion, and a supportive leadership style to his team. Aside from his passion for the game, Cam has shown a deep commitment to player development—working closely with each athlete to build personalized growth plans and supporting them every step of the way.
The culture Cam created within his team was evident both on and off the ice. Through his emphasis on teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, he fostered a positive and encouraging environment where players were allowed to learn, grow, and take on challenges with confidence.
Despite a tough start to the season with a young roster, the U15 AA team quickly gained momentum under Cam’s guidance, ultimately capturing both the CMHL and provincial championship banners.
The Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award is named in honour of the late Bernie Lawlor, a longtime member of the Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council and a dedicated hockey volunteer. Since 2018, the award has been presented to outstanding coaches who go above and beyond to make the game better for everyone.
Hockey Nova Scotia and the Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council congratulate Cam on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for all that he does for his team and the game.
