THOMPSON RECEIVES 2023 KEN MANTIN AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia is proud to announce that Norman Thompson is the winner of our 2023 Ken Mantin Award.
The Ken Mantin Award is named in honour of former Hockey Nova Scotia president Ken Mantin and is presented annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to amateur hockey development in Nova Scotia.
Norman has been a dedicated volunteer for many years in both the Nova Scotia U16 AAA Hockey League and the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League. He is highly regarded as the main source of information for both leagues. In the NSU16AAAHL, he manages the league website, scheduling, GameSheet Inc., and HCR details for every team and player. He also maintains records on coach certifications and player suspensions, posts game results, tracks statistics, and shares them with the media each and every weekend. Norm is a skilled user of the HCR system and has mastered it faster than anyone else in the league. Apart from these leagues, Norman also handles the same responsibilities for the annual Ice Jam tournament and volunteers his time for the Don Johnson Memorial Cup each year.
Norm's contribution to the NSU16AAAHL has been invaluable over the league’s first six seasons. Without him, members of the league executive say they would be lost. Norm goes above and beyond the call of duty each and every weekend of the hockey season and proves he has more energy than most people half his age.
Please join us in congratulating Norman Thompson on being the recipient of our 2023 Ken Mantin Award. Thank you, Norm.
