PIERRE-OLIVIER COUTURE WINS BRANCH'S MOST IMPROVED OFFICIAL AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that Hammonds Plains’ Pierre-Olivier Couture is the recipient of our 2021 Hockey Canada Officiating Program Branch Award: Most Improved.

This year's winner has made steady improvements on the ice since first donning the stripes as a 15-year old official with the TASA Minor Hockey Association where he was also a talented goaltender.

Today, P-O officiates with both the Halifax Hawks Minor Hockey Association and the TASA Minor Hockey Association, as well as various levels of elite hockey.

The 20-year-old Level 3 official is always developing his skills and honing his craft. As a player, his hockey journey took him to the Ontario Hockey Academy in Cornwall, ON. Returning to Halifax to finish his high school career, he guarded the net for Charles P. Allen High School and also remained active in the local officiating community.

After his graduation, P-O enrolled at Saint Mary’s University where he is completing a degree in criminology.

On behalf of Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Pierre-Olivier Couture on receiving our 2021 Hockey Canada Officiating Program Branch Award: Most Improved.
