MARTELL NAMED CO-RECIPIENT OF BERNIE LAWLOR COACH OF THE MONTH AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia’s Minor Council is proud to announce Terrence Martell, head coach of the Sydney Minor Hockey U13 B team, as one of the recipients of the Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award for April 2025.
Terry exemplifies what it means to be a coach, bringing dedication, compassion, and leadership to his team. Whether it’s running practices, organizing team events, or building a positive and supportive environment, Terry takes on every aspect of coaching with energy and purpose.
His players benefit from his thoughtful approach both on and off the ice, and his ability to foster teamwork and character has made a lasting impression on everyone involved with the team. Terry’s leadership not only lifts up his players, but also inspires his fellow coaches and volunteers to go the extra mile.
The Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award is named in honour of the late Bernie Lawlor, a longtime member of the Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council and a dedicated hockey volunteer. Since 2018, the award has been presented to outstanding coaches who go above and beyond to make the game better for everyone.
Hockey Nova Scotia and the Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council congratulate Terry on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for the work he continues to do in the Cape Breton hockey community.
