MACKINLEY ELECTED NEW PRESIDENT OF HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA

Hockey Nova Scotia has a new president.
We would like to congratulate Brad MacKinley on becoming the new president of Hockey Nova Scotia.
We have been very fortunate to have had Brad as a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia Board of Directors since 2015. Most recently serving as Vice-President, Operations, from 2019-23, Brad was previously Minor Council Chair from 2015-19.
A passionate volunteer, Brad is an organized and dedicated hockey leader, and has decades of experience in the sport both at the branch and association levels in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
Brad takes over from Arnie Farrell who has finished up his term as president.
A long-time Antigonish Minor Hockey Association volunteer before joining our branch, Arnie has been a valued member of Hockey Nova Scotia for more than two decades.
Whether it was in his role as Minor Council Chair, Vice-President or President, Arnie always put the player first.
Hockey Nova Scotia would also like to welcome Scott Kennedy as Vice President, Operations. Scott has previously served on the Hockey Nova Scotia Board of Directors as the Risk Management Chair, and mostly recently, as the Junior Chair.
Over the weekend, Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League (NSJHL) president Heather Campbell was appointed the new Junior Chair.
Marc Blinn, who has served as the interim Minor Council Chair since last fall, has officially taken over from former chair Brian Wentzell who has decided to step away from his role.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tina Atkinson, who joined Hockey Nova Scotia during the height of the pandemic in 2020, has decided to leave the Hockey Nova Scotia Board of Directors, but will continue to lead the work of the Hockey Nova Scotia Safe Sport Committee.
Please join us in welcoming Marc and Heather to the board of directors. We would also like to thank and commend Arnie, Brian and Dr. Atkinson for their years of commitment to Hockey Nova Scotia and hockey in Nova Scotia. We’re thankful for everything they have given to the sport and we wish them all the best!
