LONGTIME HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA EMPLOYEE MIKE FIELD RECEIVES 2021 PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia is very proud to announce that Truro's Mike Field is the winner of our 2021 President's Award.
For more than two decades, Mike has lived the core values of Hockey Canada and Hockey Nova Scotia on a daily basis.
As Hockey Nova Scotia’s longtime Member Services Manager, Mike has gained a well-earned reputation for his professionalism and dependability. His commitment to leading, developing, and promoting positive hockey experiences for all players across the province is evident to anyone who encounters him on their hockey journey.
Hockey Nova Scotia president Arnie Farrell, who has known Mike since he first joined the organization more than 20 years ago, says he is the personification of Hockey Canada’s mission statement.
“Mike is always positive in his outlook and he’s always willing to go that extra mile to make sure things are done properly and for the right reasons. He always puts the player first,” Farrell says.
“In hockey, we often see a lot of turnover when it comes to personnel at the local association level. Mike is the steady hand that helps guide these members of our hockey family in their new roles. For our volunteers, it is very reassuring to know that he is there to provide support whenever they need it.”
Hockey Nova Scotia executive director Amy Walsh says that Mike is very principled in all that he does.
“Mike doesn’t change his values inside or outside of work,” Walsh says.
“His personal values are entirely aligned with our organization’s values. He truly embodies all that we stand for.”
A former university player and junior coach, Mike is well-known for his athleticism and is a strong proponent of personal and physical well-being. When he isn’t at his office, he can often be found hiking with one of his many dogs or training with his wife Dara for their next triathlon.
For more than 20 years, Mike has brought stability, leadership, and a positive attitude to the Hockey Nova Scotia branch office. We have been fortunate to have him on our team.
Congratulations on your award, Mike!
