JOIN THE EXECUTIVE TEAM OF THE MARITIME MAJOR GIRLS HOCKEY LEAGUE

Do you want to help grow and develop women’s hockey at one of the highest levels of the game in Atlantic Canada?
The Maritime Major Girls Hockey League (U18) — the newly rebranded top U18 female hockey league in the region — is now accepting applications for several executive positions. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on elite girls’ hockey while supporting the development of young athletes across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
As a member of the league executive, you’ll play a pivotal role in the operation, development, and future success of the league. We’re seeking passionate, driven individuals to fill the following volunteer roles:
Available Executive Positions:
President
* Provide overall leadership and direction for the league.
* Preside over league meetings and ensure effective communication among league members.
* Represent the league in external matters, fostering positive relationships with other organizations.
* Make strategic decisions in collaboration with the executive team for the benefit of the league.
* Serve as a liaison between the league and external stakeholders.
Vice-President
* Assist the President in their duties and assume their responsibilities in their absence.
* Oversee specific projects or initiatives assigned by the President.
* Actively engage in decision-making processes and contribute to the development of league policies.
* Collaborate with other league officials to address issues and improve the overall league experience.
* Support the President in maintaining positive relationships with sponsors, partners, and members.
Secretary
* Maintain accurate records of league meetings, decisions, and official communications.
* Manage league correspondence, including emails, letters, and other forms of communication.
* Distribute meeting agendas and minutes in a timely manner to league members.
* Assist in maintaining the league's official documents, such as bylaws and policies.
* Handle administrative tasks as assigned by the President or executive team.
Treasurer
* Manage the league's finances, including budgeting, financial reporting, and financial planning.
* Collect and record league fees, sponsorships, and other revenue streams.
* Handle expenses, reimbursements, and payments in accordance with league policies.
* Provide regular financial updates to the executive team and league members.
* Work with auditors, if necessary, to ensure accurate financial records.
Referee Liaison
* Act as a point of contact between the league and referees, fostering positive relationships.
* Address any concerns or disputes involving referees, working towards resolutions.
* Provide feedback to referees to improve their performance and ensure fair play.
* Collaborate with the league commissioner to enforce rules and maintain game integrity.
League Commissioner
* Oversee the overall organization and operation of the league.
* Enforce league rules and policies, ensuring fair play and sportsmanship.
* Address disputes and disciplinary matters, working in conjunction with the executive team.
* Collaborate with the scheduling team to create and manage the league's game schedule.
* Work with the Vice-President and President to develop and implement strategic plans for the league's growth and improvement.
Development Coordinator
* Focus on the development and growth of players and coaches within the league.
* Implement and oversee player development programs.
* Organize clinics, training sessions, and skill-building initiatives for both players and coaches.
League Website & Social Media Coordinator
*Guide the development of league website(s), including the items desired by the team DOP’s and league board
*Ensure player biography’s, player and league statistics, and schedules are up to date on the website(s).
*May include setting up appropriate social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, or any other appropriate social media platforms.
