JAM-PACKED WEEKEND OF CHAMPIONSHIP HOCKEY COMING UP

Hockey fans across Nova Scotia are in for an action-packed weekend as teams from across the province hit the ice to compete for provincial and regional gold. From championship showdowns to the celebration of young hockey talent, there's no shortage of excitement for players, coaches, and fans alike.

The 2025 Day of Champions, hosted by the Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council, will take centre stage at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro on April 5-6. This event celebrates the dedication and commitment of minor hockey teams across the province, recognizing their hard-fought seasons with championship matches that will determine the best in each division.

Meanwhile, the Hockey Nova Scotia Female Council is set to host two NSFHL Provincial Championship Weekends. The A Division battles will unfold at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre from April 4-6, while the AA Division championship will be contested at East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz and Cole Harbour Place from April 4-6. These tournaments will showcase Nova Scotia's top female teams as they compete for provincial crowns.

Several other provincial championship tournaments will also take place throughout the weekend. The Minor U13 AAA Provincials, hosted by the TASA Minor Hockey Association, will be held at St. Margaret’s Centre in Upper Tantallon from April 3-6. Yarmouth will play host to the Minor U15 AA Provincials at the Mariners Centre over the same dates, with the Minor U18 AA Provincials taking place at Cole Harbour Place under the banner of the Cole Harbour Bel Ayr Minor Hockey Association. The Female U18 AA Provincials, hosted by Metro West Force Female Hockey Association, will see top teams compete at the Dauphinee Centre at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax from April 4-6.

Beyond the provincial stage, Nova Scotia teams will also be in action at the regional level. The Halifax McDonald's will represent the province at the 2025 U18 Male Atlantic Hockey Championship, taking place in Kensington, PEI, from April 2-6. The Macs, champions of the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League for a second-straight season, will look to make their mark against the top teams from across Atlantic Canada. Similarly, the 2025 U18 Female Atlantic Hockey Championship will see the Greenfoot Capitals, the 2025 Nova Scotia provincial champions, join the defending Atlantic champion Northern Subway Selects in their pursuit of regional titles.

Additionally, the 2025 U16 AAA Maritime Championship will take place in Port Hawkesbury, N.S., hosted by the Cabot Highlanders. This event will bring together the top U16 teams from across the Maritimes in an intense battle for the regional championship.
