HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA ANNOUNCES 2023 CANADA WINTER GAMES COACHING STAFFS

Hockey Nova Scotia has solidified its coaching staffs for the 2023 Canada Winter Games in P.E.I.
Chris Larade (Cheticamp, N.S.), head coach of the Saint Mary’s Huskies women’s hockey team, will serve as head coach of Nova Scotia’s women’s team. He will be joined behind the bench by assistant coaches Sonya Lynk (Sydney River, N.S./head coach, Cape Breton Lynx), Savannah Newton (Middle Sackville, N.S./Hockey Nova Scotia/assistant coach, Dalhousie Tigers women’s hockey team), and Lisa MacLean (Inverness, N.S./Hockey Nova Scotia High Performance Program).
Nick MacNeil (Creignish, N.S.), head coach of the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League’s Cape Breton West Islanders, has been named head coach of the men’s team. Tim Boyce (Halifax, N.S./head coach, Halifax McDonald’s) and Zack MacQueen (Sarnia, ON./assistant coach, St. Francis Xavier University X-Men hockey team) will join MacNeil as assistant coaches.
The 2023 Canada Winter Games will take place from Feb. 18 to March 5, 2023 across Prince Edward Island.
The Canada Games are the nation’s largest multi-sport competition for young athletes. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Canada Games are a key event in the development of Canada’s young athletes and represents the pinnacle of interprovincial-territorial sport competition. In 2023, the event will bring together more than 3600 athletes, managers, and coaches from 20 different sports, including everything from synchronized swimming to alpine skiing and biathlon.
