Hey Nova Scotia hockey teams, one of the greatest rivalries in sports is coming to Nova Scotia and you have a chance be on the ice with some of the best players on the planet!

The Rivalry Series featuring the national women’s teams of Canada and the USA is coming to Halifax on February 6, 2025. As part of the excitement, Hockey Nova Scotia is proud to announce our new Kindness to Carry the Flag Contest that will give young players in Nova Scotia the chance to shine on the international stage

With the holiday season upon us, there is no better time to celebrate the power of kindness – and earn a chance to carry the Canadian flag during the pre-game ceremony of the Rivalry Series, too!

The Kindness to Carry the Flag Contest is open to all U11 and above players who are playing on a minor or female hockey team registered with Hockey Nova Scotia. 

To enter:

* Submit your act of kindness to Hockey Nova Scotia. (e.g., donating to a food bank) by sharing your story on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.
* Like, follow, and tag Hockey Nova Scotia in your post.
* Alternatively, you can email your act of kindness to communications@hockeynovascotia.ca. 

Make sure your submission includes:

* Your team name
* Your association
* Level (e.g., U15 AA)

The deadline to enter is Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2 p.m.
