Hockey Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that Sean Edwards is the 2026 recipient of our Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council Award of Merit. The award, considered one of the most prestigious that a person in minor hockey can receive, is presented annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to minor hockey in Nova Scotia.

Sean has coached at the U9 level for the past two seasons, where he has built a reputation for his outstanding attitude with players and his ability to teach and develop the game. Over the past season, he worked to bring along players at every skill level, helping newer skaters make significant strides while continuing to challenge and develop the team's strongest players. His approach combines a genuine knowledge of the game with the kind of encouragement and personal attention that young players respond to.

Beyond his work at the U9 level, Sean has also coached a local U18 team for several years, guiding a successful program that captured its league title this season. He is deeply involved in the game off the ice as well, serving on local tournament, league, and arena committees and boards.

Sean's commitment to young hockey players and his ability to bring out the best in them make him very deserving of this year's award.
