DONOVAN WINS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia is proud to announce that the Antigonish Minor Hockey Association's Sean Donovan is the recipient of our 2024 Development Coordinator of the Year Award.
Sean has been an integral part of the hockey coaching community for over 13 years, currently serving as the head coach for two rep teams in the association, as well as the St. FX Men's hockey team. His dedication to hockey development is evident as he contributes over 12 hours a week of on-ice coaching, creating, managing, and distributing practice plans not only for his teams but also for other skill sessions within the association.
Balancing his commitment to the university team, a full-time job, and fatherhood to two hockey-playing daughters, Sean often travels late at night with his varsity team only to turn around and be at an early morning practice a few hours later. On the ice, he commands the attention and respect of everyone around him, leading well-organized, efficient, and effective practices that significantly enhance players' skills both individually and as a team.
Outside his regular coaching duties, Sean is frequently found supporting the broader hockey community, whether it's on the bench of a house league game, running the clock, setting up boards, or helping in any capacity he can. His unwavering dedication to developing young players has not only improved the skills of the youth but has also strengthened the community's hockey program.
On behalf of everyone at Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Sean Donovan on receiving our 2024 Development Coordinator of the Year Award.
