DEVEAU WINS 2023 FEMALE COUNCIL AWARD OF MERIT

Hockey Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that the Western Riptide Female Hockey Association’s Josanne Deveau is the 2023 recipient of our Female Council Award of Merit.
Established in 2008, the Hockey Nova Scotia Female Council Award of Merit is presented annually in recognition of a deserving individual who has made a significant impact in promoting female hockey in Nova Scotia. Female Council accepts nominations from all areas of female hockey including players, coaches, administrators, and other volunteers.
A head coach in the Western Riptide region since the 2020-21 season, Josanne Deveau is currently a member of the Western Riptide U13 A team’s staff. A former player with the Clare-Digby Minor Hockey Association and both the Yarmouth and Valley female programs, she quickly joined the coaching ranks after finishing up her playing days. Since 2017, Josanne has often served as an assistant or head coach with multiple teams in the same year.
A popular, hardworking and inspiring coach with her teams’ players, she guided her U13 A Riptide squad through a challenging 2022-23 season, advancing all the way to provincials.
On behalf of everyone at Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Josanne on winning our 2023 Female Council Award of Merit.
