BOURQUE WINS 2025 CLARY MACDONALD AWARD

Hockey Nova Scotia announced today that Nick Bourque, head coach of the Yarmouth County Mariners U11 AA team, is the recipient of the 2025 Clary MacDonald Award. This award, named in honour of the late Clary MacDonald, a dedicated hockey volunteer, recognizes our branch's coach of the year.
This season, Bourque led the Mariners to a fantastic regular season record, finishing the year atop the conference standings. The team carried that momentum into the playoffs, capturing the Scotia Minor South Championship with a perfect 5-0 run.
The Mariners then capped off their remarkable season with an outstanding showing at the Day of Champions, securing the Provincial Championship and solidifying their place as the top U11 AA team in the province.
Beyond all of the success on the ice, Coach Nick has been praised for creating a positive and supportive team culture—one where players felt empowered to challenge themselves, support one another, and grow both on and off the ice. His commitment to player development, leadership, and mentorship has left a lasting impression on his athletes and the Yarmouth hockey community.
On behalf of everyone at Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Nick Bourque on being awarded the 2025 Clary MacDonald Award.
