A MESSAGE TO OUR MEMBERS

Dear Hockey Nova Scotia Members,
Hockey Nova Scotia supports the changes announced today by the Hockey Canada Board of Directors. We believe this is an important first step toward meaningful change.
This has been a very difficult and challenging time for those involved in hockey at every level of the game. We know trust and confidence will need to be rebuilt by the national governing body as Canadians search for new voices to lead the sport.
We acknowledge there are serious issues in the game and much work must be done to improve the culture of hockey. Since the Hockey Nova Scotia Diversity and Inclusion Task Force was formed in 2019, this has been a top priority for our branch. As hockey leaders, we know we have a responsibility to lead this important work.
Hockey Nova Scotia remains committed to working with you, our dedicated volunteers, players, officials, coaches, and hockey families across Nova Scotia to offer the best programs possible. We believe hockey should be a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone.
We know you have a lot of questions. In the coming weeks, we will remain transparent and provide information to you as we receive it. During our upcoming Hockey Nova Scotia Fall Road Show meetings planned across the province, we will provide time for these discussions.
Thank you for your continued support and for everything you do for hockey.
Sincerely,
Amy Walsh
