At Hockey Nova Scotia, we are very fortunate to have an outstanding network of dedicated volunteers who help to ensure that players throughout the province have an opportunity to experience the game. 

Every two years, positions on Hockey Nova Scotia’s Board come up for election or appointment. With this in mind, we encourage anyone looking to join our board of directors to seek nomination for election or submit application for an appointed position.

In April 2021, Hockey Nova Scotia’s board of directors unanimously accepted a recommendation from the Hockey Nova Scotia Diversity and Inclusion Task Force’s final report to pursue more diversity on boards, councils, committees, and staff. We encourage applicants from diverse communities to apply for these positions, as part of our ongoing effort to promote diversity and inclusion at all levels of hockey.

You will find a list below of board of directors positions currently up for election or appointment: 

Election of Officers 2024 – 2026 
The following HNS Board positions shall be elected at the respective Annual Meeting/Congress of their Council: 

* Chair of Elite (2-year term)
* Chair of Junior (2-year term)

Appointment of Officers 2024 – 2026 

The following HNS Board members shall be appointed by the Board of Directors of HNS in May after an open solicitation for candidates: 

* Chair of Risk Management (2-year term)
* Referee-in-Chief (2-year term)
* Chief Medical Officer (2-year term)

 Please note that nominations for the elected positions must be received by Mike Field (mfield@hockeynovascotia.ca) in writing by end of day March 26, 2024, while expressions of interest in the appointed positions must be submitted to Mike Field (mfield@hockeynovascotia.ca) by May 1, 2024.
