THE JIM STIRLING SCHOLARSHIP (DONATED BY BFL CANADA RISK & INSURANCE INC.)
The Jim Stirling Scholarship (donated by BFL Canada Risk and Insurance Inc.) is presented annually to a male or female student athlete entering a program of study at a technical school, college, or university in Canada.
The applicant will have an acceptable academic standing, a high level of hockey skill through participation in Hockey Nova Scotia-registered hockey, and a record of community volunteer service.

HANSON T. DOWELL ATHLETIC/ACADEMIC AWARD
The Hanson T. Dowell Athletic/Academic Award was founded in 1985 by Hockey Nova Scotia and named in honour of the longtime Hockey Nova Scotia officer.
These awards are presented annually to two graduating high school students who participate in Hockey Nova Scotia-registered hockey and intend to continue their studies at a Canadian university or college.

HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA ACADEMIC/ATHLETIC AWARD
The Hockey Nova Scotia Academic Athletic Award is presented annually to a male or female student-athlete entering a program of study at a technical school, college, or university in Canada.
The applicant will have an acceptable academic standing, a high level of hockey skill through participation in Hockey Nova Scotia-registered hockey, and have established a record of community volunteer service.

COLIN B. MACGILLIVRAY ATHLETIC/ACADEMIC MEMORIAL AWARD
The Colin B. MacGillivray Athletic/Academic Award was founded in 1996 by Hockey Nova Scotia and named in memory of longtime branch officer Colin B. MacGillivray.
These awards are presented annually to two graduating high school students who participate in Hockey Nova Scotia-registered hockey and intend to continue their studies at a Canadian university or college.

ALLAN JOSEPH MEMORIAL ATHLETIC/ACADEMIC AWARD
The Allan Joseph Memorial Award is presented to a female hockey player from Cape Breton who is registered with Hockey Nova Scotia, and who plans to begin post-secondary studies at a recognized Canadian university or community college within the same year as her graduation from high school.
The recipient must be an above-average academic student who has demonstrated exceptional hockey ability and is committed to the principles of fair play and sportsmanship.
Allan Joseph was a highly-respected humanitarian and community leader who was well-known as an exceptional athlete and coach.

JOHN JUNIOR HANNA ATHLETIC/ACADEMIC AWARD
The John Junior Hanna Athletic/Academic Award was founded in 2006 and is presented annually to a male or female student athlete who exhibits a high level of hockey skill through participation on a Hockey Nova Scotia-registered team.
The recipient must have established a record of community volunteer service.

TINY TITUS ATHLETIC/ACADEMIC AWARD
Established in 2004, the Tiny Titus Athletic/Academic Award is presented annually to a male or female student athlete who exhibits a high level of hockey skill through participation on a Hockey Nova Scotia-registered team.
The recipient must have established a record of community volunteer service.

BILL RILEY SCHOLARSHIP
The Bill Riley Scholarship, a $2000 scholarship, will be presented annually to a graduating player in Nova Scotia of African descent who plans to pursue a post-secondary education after high school. Like Riley, the recipient should be a driven, hard-working student who is passionate about hockey.
